My vision as an artist is to create captivating, vibrant pieces that echo the essence of Vincent Van Gogh and Eduard Manet's works while embracing the evocative style of Impressionism. Through the medium of acrylic on canvas, I aim to infuse my art with the emotive energy and dynamic color palettes reminiscent of these masters. As a budding artist in my 30s, I am driven to share my creations with the world, seeking to establish a connection with art enthusiasts and individuals who resonate with the passion and spirit embedded in each stroke of my paintings.
In recent times, I've ventured into the enchanting world of crochet, a craft that holds a special place in my artistic evolution. My introduction to the art of crochet stems from the talented hands of my Russian grandmother, a seasoned crochet artist whose mastery has inspired me beyond measure.
Under her guidance, I delved into the intricate world of crochet, learning its basics and uncovering the magic that lies within each carefully woven stitch. This initiation not only honed my skills but also fostered a profound love for this timeless art form. Several years ago, I began my foray into creating crochet blankets and simple pieces of clothing, each stitch a testament to the beauty and tradition passed down through generations.
Now, I am thrilled to announce the integration of crochet into my studio collection, standing alongside my passion for painting. This merging of mediums allows me to weave together a rich tapestry of artistic expression, drawing inspiration from the threads of my heritage and the memories of my childhood in post-Soviet Russia.
These crochet pieces are more than just art; they are a tribute to my grandmother's expertise, a celebration of the enduring beauty of traditional crafts, and a reflection of the vibrant tapestry of my own life experiences. As you explore this corner of my artistic universe, I invite you to join me on a journey through time and tradition, where every stitch tells a story, and every creation is a harmonious blend of the past and the present. Welcome to a world where art is woven with love, memories, and the timeless beauty of crochet."
"Originally hailing from the cultural gem of St. Petersburg, Russia, I embarked on a journey that eventually led me to the vibrant landscapes of Massachusetts in 2013, following the completion of my DVM degree. As a full-time biomedical researcher, I have dedicated my professional life to the intricacies of science, but it was the vivid and expressive art of Vincent Van Gogh that beckoned me to explore the world of creativity.
In the midst of the global pandemic, when many of us grappled with the challenges of mental health, I sought solace in the realm of artistic expression. Drawing inspiration from my formative years in St. Petersburg, often referred to as the 'Cultural Capital of Russia,' where I marveled at the breathtaking architecture and the treasures housed in its world-renowned art museums, I uncovered a profound desire to create.
Though I dabbled in watercolors during my high school years, the notion of wielding a brush on canvas seemed like an uncharted territory until the luminous works and life story of Vincent Van Gogh ignited my artistic aspirations. It's been roughly three years since I embarked on this exhilarating journey, and I've been crafting my unique art ever since.
While I may don the hat of a full-time biomedical researcher by day, I'm an emerging artist by night. Nestled in Tyngsborough, MA, I share my life with my loving husband and the ever-watchful gaze of Salem, our dapper tuxedo cat. Together, we explore the multifaceted realms of science and art, forging a path that weaves both passion and purpose into the tapestry of my life's narrative."
